Hsinchu Motor Vehicle Office, the stations under its jurisdiction and 99 commissioned automobile inspection agents in Taoyuan, Hsinchu and Miaoli will close vehicle inspection services during Dragon Boat Festival (June. 22, 2023 to June. 25, 2023), and will resume from the working day on June. 26, 2023.

Except for commercial buses and vehicles with pressured tanks have a vehicle age of more than 10 years, the inspection should be completed within "1 month before" of a designated inspection date on a vehicle license, and "within 1 month before or after" for other vehicle types. If the last inspection date falls within the Dragon Boat Festival, the expiration postpones to the first working day (June. 26, 2023) after the Dragon Boat Festival. Those who fail to finish vehicle inspection before due day will be punished according to laws.

Hsinchu Motor Vehicle Office specially reminds vehicle owners that when a regular inspection date is about to expire, complete before the Dragon Boat Festival as soon as possible for avoiding crowded waiting line. And a failure to complete the inspection can result in fines of overdue. It is recommended that vehicle owners use more inspection agent services to apply for electronic payment or direct account transfers of gas and fuel taxes.
