In order to improve the safety of people riding motorcycles, the Highway Bureau has continued to implement a motorcycle driving training subsidy program since 2018. People are encouraged to receive a subsidy of NT$1,300 as long as they participate in motorcycle driving training classes and obtain a driver's license. Due to the good results, statistics show that those who participated in motorcycle driving training classes and obtained driver's licenses in 2012 had a 59% reduction in violation risk and a 36% reduction in accident risk compared with those who did not receive training. Therefore, the number of subsidy places was expanded to 40,000 in 2013. Deadline ends on November 30th.

In order to further improve the road feel and defensive driving concepts of motorcycle novices who have obtained driver's licenses, the Highway Bureau began to pilot the "Motorcycle Road Safety Driving Training" subsidy program this year and officially launched it in April this year. As long as motorcycle riders After obtaining a driver's license, those who then participate in actual road driving training in a driving training class can receive an additional subsidy of 1,200 yuan.

The Highway Bureau stated that the "Motorcycle Road Safety Driving Training" course lasts for 3 hours in total. The actual on-road training subjects include: starting on the roadside, turning left and right, changing lanes, stopping at unsigned intersections, paying attention to "cars suddenly opening doors" ahead, and intersections. Or when the view of the opposite lane is blocked, turn, stop for pedestrians at intersections, maintain a safe distance and distance between vehicles, and pay attention to large internal wheel discs and braking essentials.

Currently, there are 78 driving training classes offering motorcycle classes in Taiwan, and there are 38 driving training classes that have piloted "Motorcycle Road Safety Driving Training". The public can go to the Supervision Service Network or the "Motorcycle Subsidy Area" on the official website of the Highway Bureau to check. Currently, the Hsinchu area has safety driving centers, Nissin and Hsinchu Passenger Driving Training Classes that provide ordinary heavy-duty motorcycle training classes. Candidates are welcome to take advantage of them.
